CHEER CONSTITUTION

I.I. PURPOSE

 It is the purpose of the DCA Jr Lions Cheerleading squads to promote team spirit, represent Destiny Christian Academy High School, Destiny Christian Academy Jr Lions Football and Cheer Program to the highest degree, plus always set an example of good behavior. Therefore, cheerleaders must display appropriate behavior inside and outside of practices, games, and competitions. It is important to model the Jesuit way inside and outside of cheer. 

II. Requirements for cheerleaders 

DCA Jr Lions cheer teams Jr Peewee thru Midget level are expected to attend JAMZ Camp July 13 & 14, 2024 All cheer teams (Mascot thru Midget) are expected to attend cheer skill camps in the summer. Please arrange vacations around summer camp dates.

III. Uniform Policy

Cheerleaders are expected to attend all practices, all games, team bonding and competitions. h) Proper practice attire must be worn to all practices, including cheer shoes:  Practice Attire DCA practices safety at all practices, this includes attire. Proper practice attire must be worn to all practices, including cheer shoes: Athletes are to wear clothing that allows movement and comfort, keeping in mind that we may practice on/near grassy areas. Acceptable clothing (unless otherwise instructed) includes:

Yoga pants/shorts 
T-shirts, tank tops (all shirts should cover mid-rift)
Crew neck sweatshirts when applicable
White cheer shoes

The following items are not acceptable items to be worn to practices:

Denim-style tank tops    
Crop tops     
hoodies     
 Items with pockets    
 Items with zippers     
 Items with buttons 
Jewelry    

 Non-Cheer shoes – Athletic/running shoes, Vans, Crocs, deck shoes, Chucks, etc. If athletes arrive at practice in inappropriate practice attire, parents will be contacted to bring appropriate clothing or to pick up an athlete. III Uniforms Follow DCA Cheer Uniform policy. Hair and makeup will be decided at the VP of Cheer's discretion. Disciplinary action may be taken if a cheerleader does not meet the expectations set forth. Action will be taken based on the severity of the occurrence. Since it is impossible to foresee all problems, disciplinary action will be assigned based on the VP of Cheer/Coach's judgment and on a case-by-case basis. please add:  IV SAC TOC Competition The SAC Tournament of Champions (TOC) is a mandated component of the SAC League; all levels of cheer shall attend (Mascot - Midget levels). The SAC TOC will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024. Failure to participate will result in the athlete being removed from any end-of-season events, including but not limited to Nationals competition (if applicable), end-of-season banquet, etc., and may result in removal from next season register.
