CHEER CONSTITUTION
I. Purpose
It is the responsibility of the DCA Jr. Lions Cheerleading squads, coaches and parents to uphold the Christian values of Destiny Christian Academy (DCA). Cheerleaders, coaches and parents must display appropriate behavior inside and outside of practices, games and competitions. We are a Christ-centered program and it is expected we represent Christ in our actions and how we interact and treat one another.
II. Requirements for Cheerleaders
DCA Jr. Lions cheer squads Jr. PeeWee thru Midgets are expected to attend mandatory choreography camp on specific date for specified team (July 26 - Jr. PeeWee, July 27 - PeeWee, August 1 - Jr. Midgets, August 2 - Midgets). Please plan vacations around these dates due to the instruction of competition routines from our professional choreographer.
Jr. Peewee - Midgets are expected to attend the mandatory JAMZ Reload competition on Oct. 12, 2025 in Stockton, Ca.
Mascots - Midgets are expected to attend the mandatory JAMZ SAC TOC competition on Nov. 8, 2025 in Roseville, Ca.
All cheerleaders are expected to attend all mandatory practices which will be discussed at parent meetings and posted on Band.
III. Uniform Policy
Cheerleaders are expected to wear proper attire for the event of attendance (practices, games, competitions). Expected uniforms will be posted on Band in detail prior to event. Cheerleaders attending cheer clinics should wear clothing that allows movement and comfort including cheer shoes/athletic shoes.
Hair should be up and out of face (ponytail, braids acceptable).
The following items are not acceptable and should not be worn: crop tops, hoodies, clothing with pockets/zippers/buttons, jewelry/earrings.
Once uniforms/practice wear/cheer shoes are received cheerleaders are expected to follow dress code which will be communicated and posted in Band.
IV. Communication
God gives grace and we are expected to follow His example. If there are any questions or special circumstances please speak with our VP of Cheer or Cheer Coordinator.
